SPARCnet RaMP: Training the next generation of interdisciplinary scientists to collaboratively address species responses to climate change

We are excited to announce our new National Science Foundation (NSF) Research and Mentoring for Postbaccalaureates (RaMP) in Biological Sciences award. Our program, RaMP: Training the next generation of interdisciplinary scientists to collaboratively address species responses to climate change with SPARCnet will use SPARCnet methods to lead three cohorts of 8-10 postbaccalaureate researchers in paid, mentored research with SPARCnet collaborators. Postbaccs will have the opportunity to build their science skills through independent and team-based research projects, professional development, and networking opportunities.

The first cohort will start on July 1st, 2024. If you are interested in learning more about the program and being notified when the application page is available, please use the Google form on our Contact Us page to join our mailing list.

Update 9 March 2024: We now have a more detailed program overview page and a detailed list of 2024 mentors, research questions, and locations. We have also moved the mailing list sign up page to our new Contact Us page.

Update 15 March 2024: We have added a detailed application information and guidance page

Update 19 March 2024: Our ETAP application page is live. The application window will close on Sunday, April 14th at 11:59 PM.

FAQ 6 April 2024: The character limit on questions 5-9 of the ETAP application is 5000 characters, NOT 500. We apologize for any confusion, however we have limited editing capabilities to change the error on the form.

FAQ 6 April 2024: Unfortunately, the start date for the first cohort of SPARCnet RaMP (July 1st, 2024) is not flexible, as we need all participants to be employed by the program prior to the start of our bootcamp on July 7th.

Update 15 April 2024: Due to some time-zone confusion, we have extended the application window. Applications now close on Tuesday, April 16th at 11:59 PM Eastern Time.
